Marion L. Wirts, 94 years old, formally of Reisterstown, died Monday, May 26, 2014 at the Health Center at Brentwood, in Lecanto, Florida.
Born November 4, 1919 in Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Frances Pletzer Griswold.
She was the wife of the late Robert H. Wirts who died in 2006.
She was a graduate of Franklin High School. During WWII, she worked at Camp Pickett in Virginia. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of Glyndon United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, camping, bowling and loved her dogs.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Robert B. and Donlyn Wirts, a brother: Robert L. Griswold, 3 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, a brother-in-law, Clarence Wirts, sister-in-law, Marjorie Noble, and other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by 3 brothers: Howard, Clarence and Charles Griswold.
Friends may call on Saturday from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A. 11605 Reisterstown Rd. Owings Mills where services will begin at 1:00 PM.
Interment in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery on Wednesday at 11:30 AM.
