Stratemeyer, Marlene Joan,
On Tuesday, August 9, 2011, Marlene Joan Stratemeyer, a resident of Augsburg Lutheran Village Retirement Community,died at her home.

She was the beloved daughter of the late George and Olivia Stratemeyer.

She is survived by her nephew and his wife: Skip and Sandra Schlesinger, and two young men she adored, her great nephews: Foster Martin and William Gerard Schlesinger. Also survived by many, many past students and friends.

She was predeceased by her sister Mary Janet Schlesinger and a great nephew, Martin Callis Schlesinger.

Ms. Stratemeyer, a life-long resident of the Baltimore area, was an honors graduate of the Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University. She taught classical piano and her legacy of piano students reaches around the world. Not interested in retirement, she obtained an accounting degree from Loyola University and became the office manager for The Elkridge Club. Upon her retirement, she moved to the Augsburg Lutheran Village Retirement Community and focused her energies on volunteering at Northwest Hospital. A world-traveler and patron of the arts, she was known for her precise documentation of her travels and adventures.

Services and interment are Private.
