Martha Elizabeth Harris

Martha Elizabeth Harris, 85, of Westminster, MD, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at the Lorien in Taneytown, MD.  Born on August 5, 1938, in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of the late Carroll B. Nusbaum and Anna Mae Duvall Vaughn.

Martha worked for English American in the alteration department for 47 years.  She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and the North Carroll Senior Center.  She liked volunteering with the church and helping with and playing bingo at the senior center.  She loved animals, and she enjoyed feeding the neighborhood deer and squirrels.

Surviving her is a daughter: Shirley Rytel, grandson: David Rytel, brothers: Richard Nusbaum of Westminster, MD and Kenneth Nusbaum of Hampstead, MD, stepbrother: John Vaughn of Pennsylvania.  She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Martha was predeceased by her stepfather: George Vaughn, and her beloved dog: Gabby.

The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, December 13, from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 14, at 10:30 am, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 3239 Carrollton Road, Hampstead, MD 21074.

Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
