Martha Ruth Mccoy

Martha Ruth McCoy, 95, of Lorien in Taneytown MD, formerly of Hudson Beach, FL, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 25, 2017 in Taneytown, MD. Born on December 5, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Harry Sr., and Ruth Eaton Lau. She was the wife of the late Harry Hamilton McCoy, who died in 1995.

Martha worked for many years as a bank secretary. She was a 1938 graduate of Franklin High School. Years ago, she enjoyed playing golf. Later in life, Martha was active at Lorien Nursing Home in Taneytown, MD.

Surviving her are children: Harry Paul McCoy and wife June McCoy of Manchester, MD and Douglas Wayne McCoy and wife Sharon Adair McCoy of Westminster, MD, 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Martha was predeceased by siblings: Naomi Bowers, Charles Lau, Harry Lau, Jack Lau and Betty Neary.

The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 from 3-5 and 7-9 pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 10 am with the Rev. Vivian C. McCarthy officiating. Interment to follow in Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville, MD.
