Mary A. Basler, 87 years old of Hampstead, formally of Owings Mills, died Sunday, July 24, 2011 at the Dove House in Westminster.
Born April 3, 1924 in Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Helen Hardesty McKeldin.
She was the wife of the late S. Luther Basler who died in 1997.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Glyndon. She belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary of Owings Mills Volunteer Fire Company, was a member of Allemande Leftovers, a square dance group, and she enjoyed water aerobics at the Westminster Y.M.C.A.
She is survived by her daughters and their spouses: Mary Lou Schoonover of Greensboro, MD, Judith and Thomas Hooks of Hampstead, Deborah and Stuart Hill of VA, Kathy Basler of NM, Janice Basler and Richard White of FL and Theresa and Rodney Allen of KY; sisters: Charlotte Creevey, Alma Broy and Bernadette Grohol; 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Gary Schoonover, her great-grandson Greg Schoonover and her very close friend, Gene Devers.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 3-5 and 7-9 PM at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A. 11605 Reisterstown Rd. Owings Mills.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 65 Sacred Heart Lane, Glyndon, MD 21071.
Interment in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
