Mary Ellen Green age 85 of Manchester, Md. died Wednesday April 15, 2009 at the Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster.
Born July 12, 1923 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Helen Marks Litsinger. She was the wife of the late Norman Hoffman Green who died February 11, 1999.
For many years, she was a bank teller at the Manchester and Hampstead Banks. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Manchester, MD.
She was previously active in the Manchester Homemakers Club. She had also been active in the Lineboro – Manchester Lions Club and was active in the Manchester Seniors and North Carroll Senior Center.
Surviving are her children: Richard N. and wife Tammie Green of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, and Norma Lee and husband Kenneth A. Reed of Manchester, MD. Grandchildren: Debora Hackney, Dennis Green, Douglas Green, Diana Lauer, Bridget Gordy, Gretchen Dorris all of Tennessee and Cynthia E. Reed of Manchester, MD. Great grandchildren: Ava Reed, Laura Hackney, Austin Sawyer, Mason Sawyer and Braxton Sawyer.
She was predeceased by a grandson: Kenneth Reed, Jr.
The family will receive friends from 1-3 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel with Rev. David Bare officiating.
Interment will be in Trinity United Church of Christ Cemetery.
