Mary "Joyce" Harmon

Mary "Joyce" Harmon, 89, of Hampstead, MD, peacefully passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Bridging Life Dove House in Westminster, MD. Born on March 3, 1933, in Upperco, MD, she was the daughter of the late Edward Earl Dietz and Beulah Marie Harris Dietz.

Joyce spent the majority of her career working at Jos. A. Bank. After retirement she worked at the local Weis grocery store and later at The Right Start Daycare. Throughout her life she was an active and loyal church member. Over the years, she participated in the church choir, taught Sunday school and volunteered with Vacation Bible School. She was an avid gardener; she loved taking care of her flowers and grew award-winning dahlias. She enjoyed bowling, doing jigsaw puzzles, and playing cards. She liked making homemade jams and pies for her family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Joyce is survived by her children: Donald Harmon, David Harmon and wife Joanna, Michael Harmon and wife Vicky, Kimberly Mouzouras, grandchildren: Kirsten Harmon, Jason Harmon, Andrew Harmon, Samantha Harmon, Adrianna Mouzouras, Giovanna Mouzouras, Austin Haynes, and siblings: Shirley Hess, Walter "Butch" Dietz, and Donald Dietz. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her siblings: Edward "Sonny" Dietz, Evelyn "Suzie" Bosley, Elsie "Marie" Follett (twin sister), William Dietz, Loretta Dietz, Robert "Bobby" Dietz, and daughter-in-law: Deborah Jean Harmon.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, August 25, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 26, at Grace Bible Church, 3250 Charmil Dr., Manchester, MD at 11 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Joyce's name may be offered to Bridging Life Dove House, 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157.
