Mary Eleanor (Nell) Murphy

Mary Eleanor (Nell) Murphy, 91, of Reisterstown, MD, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2022, at Northwest Hospital in Randallstown, MD. Born on August 2, 1930, in Fallston, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late John Golden Murphy, Sr. and Bridget (Bessie) Leech Murphy. She was predeceased by 10 siblings and her son in law, Jeffery Alan Eddy.

Surviving her is a daughter: Barbara Ilene Murphy of Reisterstown, and granddaughter: Teresa Bridget Eddy of Arlington, VA. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.

Mary loved nothing more than being surrounded by family and friends. Her happiest of moments were spent watching the Orioles or at a crab fest. She loved to travel, especially to her beloved Ireland. Mostly, she will be remembered for being a loving mother and grandmother.

Mary was a loyal parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glyndon, where she was a member of their 55 and older club. She enjoyed word searches and watching The Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN). She worked as a bookkeeper for a car dealership.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, March 18, 2022, from 5-8 pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at 10 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 63 Sacred Heart Lane, Glyndon, MD 21071.

Interment to follow in St. Bartholomew Church Cemetery, Manchester, MD.
