Mary Teresa Nichols

Mary Teresa Nichols, 80, of Taneytown, MD, passed away on Sunday, May 23, 2021, at Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster, MD. Born on January 19, 1941, in Norwood, MA, she was the daughter of the late John and Ellen Dorrigan Curran. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard Carlton Nichols, who passed away in 1995.

Years ago, Mary was the Director of Financial Services for Mercy Medical Center. She was a longtime Eucharistic Minister at St. Joseph's in Taneytown. Mary loved spending time with her grandchildren and friends in Carroll Vista, and she enjoyed visiting Ireland.

Surviving her are children: Kathleen M. Saveleski and husband Scott of Manchester, MD, John R. Nichols and wife Nicole of Severna Park, MD, Michael R. Nichols of Vagabond, MD, and James C. Nichols and wife Emilia of Severna Park, MD, grandchildren: Morgan and spouse Mia, Richard, Rory, Halle, John, Adam, and Emma, sisters: Ellen Crampton of Walpole, MA, and Susan Curran of New Mexico, and her faithful dog: Nellie.

She was predeceased by a brother: John Curran.

The family will receive visitors on Monday, June 7, from 4-7 pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102. A Requiem Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 8, at 11 am at St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church, 2930 Hanover Pike, Manchester, MD 21102, with Father Michael Roach officiating.

Interment is private.
