Mary Elizabeth Spilker, 95, of Hampstead died Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at the Dove House in Westminster.
Born April 21, 1917 in Baltimore City, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Porpora and Grace Dalfonzo Porpora. She was the wife of Carroll Cole Spilker, who died in 1983.
She was a homemaker. Years ago, she had worked for the Methodist Board of Child Care, for Rosewood Hospital, and as a Baby Sitter.
Surviving are her children Gloria Schoepf and her husband Frank of Hampstead and Lawrence "Spike" Spilker and his wife Kathy of Camp Hill, PA; her sister Grace Curreri of Baltimore; her friend and caregiver Lee Furches of Manchester; her grandchildren Brian Noell, Robin Petrus, Julia, Laura, and Harry Spilker; and her great grandchildren Luke, Corinna and Gabriel Petrus.
She was predeceased by her siblings Katherine Salino, Nettie Dalfonzo, Rose Linthicum, and John, Joseph, Samuel, and Anthony Porpora.
The family will receive friends 10 a.m. Saturday until time of funeral service at Noon at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester with her pastor the Rev. Jacob Young officiating.
Interment will be 11 a.m. Monday at Lorraine Park Cemetery in Woodlawn.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Millers United Methodist Church, 3282 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102.
