Maurice Russell Troxell, 84, of Owings Mills died Thursday, March 20, 2008 at Futurecare Cherrywood in Reisterstown. He was the born September 25, 1923 in Detour, Maryland and was the son of the late Russell Troxell and Ruth Sprague Troxell. He was the husband of Doris Mae Robertson Troxell, his wife of 61 years.
He was a veteran of the United States Army during WWII and was a member of the VFW. He was a bus driver for the Maryland Transportation Authority and a painting contractor.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his son and daughter in law Russell and Candy Troxell of Westminster, daughters and sons in law Debbie and Bobby Bower of Finksburg, Paula and Richard Hess of Manchester, and Tammie and Michael, Sr. Comegys of Elkridge, sister Ann R. Mettee of Westminster. Also survived by nine grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and one great- great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will held 8:00 Monday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills with his pastor Rev. Terrance L. Thrasher of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church officiating.
Interment will be private.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 3-5 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at the funeral home.
