Melvin Arthur Walker age 74 of Hanover, PA died Wednesday June 11, 2014 at his home.
Born February 14, 1940 in Randallstown, MD he was the son of the late Melvin Arthur and Mildred Elaine Clagett Walker. He was the husband of Linda Marie Ellis Walker his wife of 54 years.
He was a retired heavy equipment operator and a member of Lake Marburg Baptist Church. He was a former member of the Reese Vol. Fire Co., he drove Figure 8 race cars, enjoyed camping and most of all loved his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters and son in laws: Joanne and Jerry Cowan of Spring Grove, PA, Elaine and Michael Caler of Hanover, PA and Judy and Ronnie Yarger of Spring Grove, PA. Siblings: Geraldine Ruth of York, PA, Linda Riley of Randallstown, MD, Carroll and Jimmy Clagett both of Maryland. He was also survived by 11 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by 1 brother and 3 sisters.
Funeral services will be held at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A. 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD on Tuesday at 10:00am with the Rev. Quay F. Reiser, Jr. officiating.
Interment will be in Lakeview Memorial Park, Sykesville, MD.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 7-9pm and Monday from 3-5 and 7-9pm at the funeral chapel.
