Michael William "Bill" Purcell died Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at the Gilchrist Hospice in Towson.
Born June 26, 1914 in Baltimore County, he was the son of the late John J. and Minnie C. Sheehan Purcell. He is the husband of Sharon M. Clayton Purcell.
He was a life member of Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company and a member of Amicable-St. John's Lodge No. 25 A.F. & A.M.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his stepdaughter S. Michele Sparklin and her husband John and a niece and nephew, Elaine Frederick and Jack Purcell.
He is predeceased by his brothers, John, Joseph, Walter, Clarence, Clay and Charles Purcell and sister Nellie J. Purcell.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 31, at 12:00 Noon at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A. 11605 Reisterstown Rd. Owings Mills. Rev. James DeMent officiating.
Interment in Druid Ridge Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 3-5 and 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
