Michael Samuel Jeffra
7/11/1959 to 10/31/2025

"I'll miss you tomorrow."

Born to Joseph Michael Jeffra and Mary Virginia Sandoval Tebbs Jeffra, both deceased.

Also deceased, is his brother Larry Tebbs

Survived by his wife, Kathleen Marie Nason,  and their son, Benjamin Allen Jeffra of Westminster as well as Ben's wife Heather Kinsey and his four grandchildren, Henley, Rowan, Brooks, and Jobe.  He is also survived by his brother Thomas Tebbs of Eldersburg.

Michael was a, "Legacy" at the racetrack.  His father, uncle, aunt, and a few cousins worked there before him. He was a self appointed good will ambassador introducing many to the Preakness, the Maryland State Fair, and other, "can't miss" events.  Out on the parking lot he changed a few tires, jumped a few batteries, and retrieved a few keys that had been locked inside, but mostly he looked out for people.  He was a proud member of Local 27 and relished his role as shop steward. Michael looked out for members and just folks who needed an advocate, a mentor, a friend.  He retired after working 46 years for the Maryland Jockey Club at Pimlico and Laurel and other Maryland Race Courses.

An avid angler, Michael fished from Florida's Lake Okeechobee and South Carolina's Lake Marion and Lake Moultrie, all the way to The Salmon River in Pulaski, New York.  He could tell the tale of each fish he caught.  He loved to backpack and revisited his favorite sections of the Appalachian Trail many times, sometimes including his very young brothers-in-law Tim and Stephen Nason.  The hobby Michael was the most passionate about was football and the Chicago Bears.  He traveled to Bears games in a dozen different  cities, and attended games in Soldier Stadium at least nineteen times.  Mike loved da Bears!
