Michael Bryan McNelly passed from this world to the next on February 9th, 2020 after a long, hard fight against cancer. He was 69 years old. He was the beloved husband of Anna (Fogg) McNelly.
He was born on Halloween in 1950. He grew up in The Hampden neighborhood of Baltimore (though he would often claim it was closer to Roland Park). He was a Baltimore City Public School teacher for more than four decades and loved the kids he taught. He loved history and often traveled to historic places. He always wanted a clean house. He climbed mountains but hated bridges. He was easy to know and liked meeting new people. He loved his wife and two sons, but he especially loved his grandchildren.
Surviving him in addition to his wife are two sons: Andrew McNelly and Bradley McNelly, daughter-in-law: Amy (Walton) McNelly, and his two grandchildren: Declan McNelly and Fiona McNelly.
The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102. A Requiem Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2020, at 10 am at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, 2930 Hanover Pike, Manchester, MD 21102. Interment to follow in New Lutheran Cemetery, Manchester, MD.
