Mildred Frances Ross, 93, of Sykesville formerly of Reisterstown died Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Copper Ridge in Sykesville.
Born November 11, 1917 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Byron Lippert. She was the wife of the late James William Ross, her husband of 52 years, who died in 2005.
She was a Catonsville High School graduate who enrolled in the Maryland State Normal School and Graduated in 1939 from the then Maryland State Teachers College, now known as Towson University.
She was an elementary school teacher for the Baltimore County School System for 35 years, retiring in 1974 from Franklin Elementary School in Reisterstown. She enjoyed traveling on bus trips during her retirement.
Surviving is her sister-in-law Nancy Ross; her brothers-in-law Howard Hayes, Jr. and George Cowman, Jr.; and also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister Cleo Miles.
The family will receive friends 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Fr. Wayne Larson officiating.
Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered to Copper Ridge, 710 Obrecht Rd., Sykesville, MD 21784.
