Miriam T. Sterner, 91, of Westminster
Miriam T. Sterner, 91, of Westminster died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007, at Beverly Living Center.
Born June 6, 1916, in Hoke, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Paul S. and Annie R. Therit Wentz. She was the wife of Curvin B. Sterner, her husband of 41 years, who died March 11, 1980.
She was raised near Hobart, Pa., and attended Zumbrum's School.
She and her husband farmed and operated a retail egg and produce route in Baltimore for many years. She retired from the Carroll County school system as a food service worker and baker.
She enjoyed baking, cooking, maintaining her house and yard and quilting for her church and family.
She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Westminster.
Surviving are daughter and son-in-law Darlene M. and Nick Majorczak of Fort Loudon, Pa.; son and daughter-in-law Stewart C. and Linda Sterner of Westminster; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 827 Leister's Church Road, Westminster, with the Rev. Gene Alexander officiating. Interment will be in St. David's Cemetery in Hanover, Pa.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the church.
