Myron Nolte Almony, Sr. age 89 of Finksburg, MD., died Friday October 17,2008 at his home.
Born October 15,1919 in Herford, MD., he was the son of the late Hollis Miller Almony and Mary Meryl Nolte Almony. He was the husband of Helen Clyde Almony his wife of 69 years.
He took pride in owning his own barber shop for 54 years on Main Street in Reisterstown, MD. He also owned Reservoir Realty. He was a charter member of the Reisterstown Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed dining out, visiting with his family, thoroughbred racing, trips to the ocean, bluegrass music and a fine cigar.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his daughter Joan Dopson and son in law Dr. John Dopson of Finksburg, MD., son Myron Almony, Jr. of Upperco, MD., daughter Sharon Almony and son in law Carl Wolbert of Upperco, MD., daughter Michelle Hutchins of Chesapeake, VA., son Michael S. Almony of Finksburg, MD., sisters Marguerite Martin of Towson, MD., Nancy Koehler of Baltimore, MD., brother Albert Almony and sister in law Mary Almony of Lutherville, MD., and sister in law Carol Almony and Timonium, MD. He was the proud grandfather of 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his sons Larry and Mark Almony and his brother Hollis Almony.
Funeral services will be held at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A. 11605 Reisterstown Rd. Owings Mills, MD. on Tuesday Oct. 21,2008 at 2:00pm. with the Rev. Carol Yocum of Reisterstown United Methodist Church officiating.
Interment will be private.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 3-5 and 7-9 pm. or on Tuesday from noon until the time of service at the funeral chapel.
