N. Ruth Bayliss

N. Ruth Bayliss, 74, of Taneytown died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007, at Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster.
Born March 29, 1933, in Cranford, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Robert and Naomi Bausmith Theisz. She was the wife of Ronald W. Bayliss, her husband of 52 years.
She lived with her family in Hunterdon County, N.J., from 1960 to 1985, where she was involved in the Flemington Women's Club and managed the Hunterdon County Medical Center Gift Shop. After moving to Maryland in 1985, she was active in the Women's Club of Glyndon.
She was known as "Bunny" to her husband and collected all types of rabbits from around the world to adorn her home. She was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling, redecorating homes and hosting family reunions.
She especially enjoyed Penn State football games, which she had attended with her husband since 1979.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are sons and daughters-in-law Douglas and Michelle Bayliss of Littlestown, Pa., and Jeffrey and Mimi Bayliss of Westminster; sisters Carolyn Herbert of Port Orange, Fla., and Brenda Bayliss of Reading, Pa.; grandchildren Catherine, Jared, Jennifer and Jason; and a great-granddaughter, Lexi.
She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Erica.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Jan. 5, 2008, at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Carroll Hospice Dove House, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.
