Norman Glenn Harris, 80, of Hanover, PA died Saturday April 9, 2011 at Homewood at Plum Creek in Hanover, PA.
Born November 25, 1930 in Baltimore County, he was the son of the late John Pierce and Mariam Lou Miller Harris. He was the husband of Nancy Carlein Cook Harris, his wife of 59 years.
He was retired from the Maryland State Highway Administration and Maryland Dept. of Transportation. He was a graduate of Franklin High School.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Ionic 145, 32nd degree, Scottish Rite, Boumi Temple Shrine, Western Maryland Shrine Club and Carroll Scottish Rite Club.
He was also a member of the American Society of Military Engineers, Maryland Association of Engineers and the Portland Cement Association. He was a United States Navy Veteran.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children Cheryl Lynn Savage of Hanover, PA, Bradley Allan Harris and wife Peggy of New Windsor, Norman Glenn Harris II and wife Mary Louise and James Patrick Harris of Taneytown; his sisters Ruth Ann Fuhrman of Hanover, PA, Barbra Jane Kruse of Ohio and Delores Virginia Harris of Richmond, VA; He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, 4 step grandchildren and 2step great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester where a funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday.
Interment will be in St. Benjamin's Church Cemetery, Westminster, MD.
