Norman
Amos Ruhlman, Sr., 87, of Hampstead died Friday, October 22, 2010 at his
residence.
Born October 27, 1922 in
Carroll County, he was the son of the late Noah Henry Ruhlman and Mamie Feeser
Ruhlman.
He was the husband of the late
Grace A. Calp Ruhlman, who died in 1994.
He
was a longtime farmer and carpenter.
He was a veteran of the United States Army. He
was a life member of the VFW and the American Legion.
Surviving
are his children Norman A. Ruhlman, Jr. of Broadtop, PA, Robert E. Ruhlman of
Taneytown, Martha J. Ruhlman Selby of Helene, MT, Janet Marie Ruhlman Leidy of
Westminster, Edith May Ruhlman Ballard, Henry E. Ruhlman, and Roger L. Ruhlman
all of Hampstead;
his sister Kathryn
Ruhlman of Daytona Beach, FL;
his 24
grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren.
He
was predeceased by his daughter Doris Ruhlman, his grandson Norman A. Ruhlman,
III, his brother Woodrow Ruhlman, and his sisters Hattie Wisner, Annie Kessler,
and Sarah Richeson.
The
family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Eckhardt
Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, where a funeral service will be
held 12:00 p.m. Tuesday.
Interment
will be in Lake View Memorial Park.
In
lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered to the Carroll Hospice,
292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157.
