Patricia “Patsy” Ann Freeland Wertz

Patricia "Patsy" Ann Freeland Wertz, 81, of Pikesville, MD, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at her home. Born on June 21, 1941, in Rockdale, MD, she was the daughter of the late Wilmer Joseph Freeland, Sr., and the late Virginia Mae Shotts Freeland. She was the beloved wife of 62 years to Dennis E. Wertz.

Patsy worked as a cashier and a homemaker for many years. She first loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She enjoyed many hobbies including reading books, watching Hallmark Channel, and quilting. Some of her favorite things were wearing and collecting hats, collecting cookie jars, and the color red. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Surviving her in addition to her husband are daughters: Tina Eanes and husband Ron of Minnesota, Tammy M. Wertz of Pikesville, MD, and Tracey M. Kaylor of Hanover, PA and ex-husband Scott Kaylor of New Jersey, sons: John Ryan, Sr. and wife Grace of Pikesville, MD, Ross Brown and wife Linda of Virginia, and Michael Stafford and wife Dee of Union Bridge, MD, grandchildren: Tiffany Collins and husband Shawn, Chris Shipp and wife Robyn, Matt Eanes, Travis Eanes, Kevin Eanes, Alexia Wertz, Jackie Dunn and husband Andy, and John Ryan, Jr. and wife Dorothy, 14 great-grandchildren, and brothers: Paul Freeland and wife Marty of Manchester, MD, and Kenneth Freeland and wife Dottie of Landsowne, MD. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son: Dennis Wertz, Jr, grandchildren: Julie Eanes and Joey Ryan, and brothers: Wilmer Freeland, Jr., Charles Freeland, and Robert Freeland.

The family will receive visitors on Sunday, September 18, from 3-5 and 7-9 pm, and on Monday, September 19 from 10 am until time of funeral service at 11 am at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, MD 21117.

A private interment will be held at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, Owings Mills, MD.
