Patricia Kenealy Leather

Patricia Kenealy Leather, 91, of Hampstead, MD, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at North Pines Assisted Living in Manchester, MD. Born on December 10, 1934, in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Emmett Joseph Kenealy and Dorothy Woods Kenealy. She was the beloved wife of the late John Edward Leather, Jr., who passed away in 2018.

Patricia worked for Baltimore County Public Schools as a school nurse. Prior to that she helped to open Shock Trauma and also worked at Baltimore County General Hospital. Upon “retiring” she worked at Carroll Primary Care part time as a nurse.

She attended Uniontown Bible Church in Union Bridge, MD where she gave her life to Christ, in February 2023. She enjoyed baking and sewing, especially for friends and family. She also liked taking trips to Ocean City and anything about the beach. She loved lighthouses, snowmen, the Baltimore Orioles and all things chocolate! It wasn’t unusual for her to have a shirt or knickknack that had a silly or corny phrase. Her sense of humor was great.

Pat was all about her kids, grandkids and family. She watched countless baseball, softball, basketball, soccer and fencing games/tournaments for her children and grandchildren. She was frequently a PTO president, room mom, baked countless breads, cupcakes, cakes and dinners. She helped shuttle grandchildren to doctors, orthodontists, dentists and sports practices. There wasn’t a time that she was called, that she wasn’t immediately available to anyone. She had a crazy sense of humor and would gladly make you smile, while pushing her own needs to the side. She was the epitome of caring and giving. She cared for her 3 kids, our 2 grandmoms, raised a grandchild, helped care for the other grandchildren and helped care for whoever else came in her path.

Surviving are her children: Terry E. Leather of Pasadena, MD, and Tammy Chisholm of Hampstead, MD, grandchildren: Gabrielle, Nicholas, Lauren, Hailey, Samantha, and great-grandson: Lucas.

Patricia was predeceased by her daughter: Tracey Lee Leather-Long.

The family will receive visitors on Saturday, January 10, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm, at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD, where a funeral service will be held at 3:30 pm.

Interment is private.
