Patricia Ann Pennington

Patricia Ann Pennington, 83, of Manchester, MD, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at her home. Born on December 5, 1941, in Dundalk, MD, she was the daughter of the late Jacob Sofinowski and Ruth Eva Sofinowski. She was the beloved wife of 65 years to Stanley Donald Pennington, Sr.

Patricia retired from the United States Postal Service as a rural carrier. She was a true Christian and strong believer in Jesus as our means of salvation. In her younger days, she played on teams with the Manchester sports council and was a Sunday school teacher. She was devoted to her family, a wonderful wife and mother. She was also a great baker, with pie as a specialty.

Surviving her in addition to her husband are sons: Stanley Pennington and wife Jennifer of Westminster, MD, Frank Pennington and wife Carol of Mt. Airy, MD, Rev. Dan Pennington and wife Rev. Kathy of Mansfield, OH, grandchildren: Jake, Rachel, Allison, Laurel, Stephanie, Ariel, Zachary, Jason, Meghan, Linnet, Kristina, and numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings: Ruth Copenhaver, Diane Thomas, Linda Sofinowski, and Charles Sofinowski.

Patricia was predeceased by her brothers: Jacob Sofinowski, Alan Sofinowski, and Frank Sofinowski.

The family will receive visitors on Saturday, December 6, from 10-11 am, at Jerusalem Lutheran Church, 1372 Bachmans Valley Road, Westminster, MD, where a funeral service will start at 11 am.

Interment to follow in John Luther Miller Cemetery, Westminster, MD.
