Patrick Joseph Hughes, 79, of Hampstead died Sunday, October 13, 2013 at the Dove House, Westminster.
Born May 25, 1934 in Laois, Ireland, he was the son of the late Michael Hughes and Anne Mullin Hughes. He was the husband of Rita Hughes.
He was an ironworker. He enjoyed woodworking and golf.
Surviving in addition to his wife, a daughter Katherine Hughes of Hampstead; a daughter-in-law Beth Hughes of Taneytown; a grandson Conor Hughes of Taneytown; and he was the last of his siblings.
He was predeceased by his son Ronan Michael Hughes, who died January 2013.
A Requiem Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church, the Historic Church, 3071 Park Avenue, Manchester with celebrant, Rev. Fr. Michael Roach officiating.
Interment will be in the New Lutheran Cemetery, Manchester.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church, Attention Building Fund, P.O. Box 448, Manchester, MD 21102 or to Dove House, 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157.
