Patsy Alverta Mummert Bloom, 73, of Palestine, W Va died Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at her home.
Born May 28, 1938, in Westminster, she was the daughter of Alice May Blizzard Mummert of Reisterstown and the late Oswald P. Mummert.
She was the former wife of Carl Bloom.
She was a graduate of Franklin High School, Maryland General Hospital School of Nursing, and St. Mary's College. She worked as a registered nurse and as a supervisor at Rosewood State Hospital. In addition, she worked as a nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital and as a home care nurse. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening and crocheting.
Surviving in addition to her mother are her sons David W. Bloom of Reisterstown and Martin S. Bloom of Finksburg; her grandchildren Martin "Scotty" Bloom, Jr. of Finksburg, Christopher Bloom of Palestine, W Va, Tyler Bloom of Finksburg, Alicia and Alex Bloom of Hanover, PA; her sisters and brothers-in-law Nancy and Galen McKenzie of Sykesville and Viveca and Marlin Michaels of Manchester.
The family will receive friends 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills where a funeral service 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Timothy P. Feaser officiating.
Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg.
