Peggy Lou Dienst, 78, of Manchester died Saturday, March 8, 2014 at the Long View Nursing Home in Manchester.
Born February 23, 1936 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Charles William Dienst and Fannie Barbara Wetzelberger Dienst.
She was an active member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manchester. Prior to retirement, she was the editor of Journal of Urology for the American Urological Association. In her spare time, she had been a volunteer at Carroll Hospital Center, loved playing Bingo and her dog Paris.
Surviving is her brother-in-law David A. Beaver, Jr. of Manchester; her niece Colleen M. Beaver of Cockeysville; and her nephew of Charles D. "Chuck" Beaver of Manchester.
She was predeceased by her sisters Jeanne D. Beaver and Shirley B. Dienst; her nephew Michael Craig and his wife Polly Beaver; and her great nephew Jonathan Michael Beaver.
The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester and 10 a.m. Tuesday until of time of Funeral Service at 11 a.m., Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3184 Church Street, Manchester with her pastors the Revs. Matthew S. and Norma L. Schenning officiating.
Interment will be in New Lutheran Cemetery, Manchester.
