Philip Wayne Bennett

Philip Wayne Bennett passed away peacefully on the evening of October 1, 2022 in Tucson, AZ. Phil was born on October 11, 1945 in Baltimore, MD to John C. and Edna Doris Bennett (née Brown).

Phil was a pioneer in early coding and enjoyed a long career in database administration. He was an expert gardener; creator of amazing desserts; grilling master; and loved all things science fiction.

Phil is survived by his step brother Roy, daughter Jennifer Uhrlaub, daughter Christine Newkirk and her husband William, as well as his four grandchildren, Finnley, Elsie, Declan, and Amelia.

He is preceded in death by father John, step father Roy Bopst, mother Doris, and brother Richard "Dick" Bennett.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023, from 9 - 10 am at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102, where a memorial service will begin at 10 am.
