Phyllis Ann Prietz

PRIETZ – Phyllis A. Prietz, 94, née McDermott, of Reisterstown, MD, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025, at Homewood Living at Plum Creek in Hanover, PA. She was the wife of 55 years to the late Herman Conrad Prietz, who passed away in 2022.

She was predeceased by her first husband: William Krider, Sr., son: William R. Krider, Jr., and son-in-law: David Glenn Meekins.

Phyllis is survived by her son: Mark (Jeanne) Krider of Westminster, MD, daughters: Karen (Mark) Kohr of Reisterstown, MD, and Sharon Meekins of Finksburg, MD, stepdaughter: Mikki (Glenn) Lewis of Ellicott City, MD, stepsons: Ronald (Cindy) Prietz of Westminster, MD, Robert (Shirl) Prietz of Hanover, PA, and sister: Joyce Crone of Florida. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and multiple nieces and nephews.

Phyllis was a devoted and loving wife, mother and Nana and will be sorely missed. Phyllis was an active member of Sacred Heart Church of Glyndon, MD, since 1967 and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hanover, PA, since 2022. She held many roles throughout her career as a crossing guard, restaurant hostess at Stewarts, and a Hallmark bookstore assistant manager.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025, at 11 am, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 63 Sacred Heart Lane, Glyndon, MD. Family will receive guests from 10:00 - 11:00 am prior to the Mass.

A private interment will be held at a later date at the Baltimore Cemetery.
