Ralph Maurice Shamer

Ralph Maurice Shamer, 74, of Manchester, MD, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2025, at his home. Born on March 5, 1951, in Patapsco, MD, he was the son of the late Howell Shamer and Ella Hoffman Shamer. He was the beloved husband of 55 years to Nancy Marie Shamer.

Ralph was a heavy machinery operator for many years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, watching Gunsmoke and old Westerns. You could often find him outside, working on his old truck “Shakey” or listening to country music and Elvis in his garage. He liked going to Charlestown, WV, to the casino, and was a member of the Westminster Moose Lodge 1381. He also enjoyed watching Orioles baseball, wrestling, and boxing. Throughout the years, there have been many beloved family pets which he adored. Ralph always had a story to tell; he will be missed by all who knew him.

Surviving him in addition to his wife are children: Nicole Garcia and husband Carlos, Russell Shamer, Todd Shamer and wife Jennifer, Chad Shamer, grandchildren: Riley and Luke, and sister: Nila Shamer.

Ralph was predeceased by his siblings: Margaret Delores Sheeley, Carlton “Buzzy” Shamer, Wayne Shamer, Gene Shamer, Janet Conover, and Darlene Blevins.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD.

A private graveside service and interment will take place in Patapsco United Methodist Church Cemetery, Finksburg, MD.
