Rebecca Bell Atkinson age 96 of McSherrystown, PA. died Sunday July 19,2009 at the Hanover Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hanover, PA.
Born May 2,1913 in Puleski Co, Virginia she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Myrtle Alice Phillips Wilson. She was the wife of the late Paul Atkinson.
She was a retired nurse and had worked at Childrens Hospital in Washington,D.C. She had also worked at Veit Furniture in Hanover, PA. She was a member of Manchester Baptist Church where she had been a secretary for 20 years and sang in the choir. She enjoyed gardening.
She is survived by her brother: Herbert H. Wilson and wife Irene of Essex, MD. Sister in law: Donna Wilson Radford, Virginia. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by sisters: Vonnie W. Simpkins, Edith Linkus and Opal Phillips, Brothers: David and Voyce Wilson.
The family will receive friends on Thursday July 23,2009 from 1:00pm. until the time of service at 2:00pm. at Manchester Baptist Church, 2933 Manchester Baptist Church Rd. Manchester, MD. with the Rev. Cliff Elkins officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
