Richard Anthony Christopher, Sr.

Richard Anthony Christopher, Sr., 83, of Manchester, MD, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at his home.  Born on April 5, 1941, in Baltimore City, MD, he was the son of the late William Joslin Christopher and Helen Frances Huda Christopher.  He was the beloved husband of Barbara Ann Smith Christopher, who passed away in 2020.

Richard was a veteran of the United States Navy.  He was an automotive parts delivery driver for Len Stoler. He was a member of the American Legion Post 31 in Westminster.  He enjoyed fishing and crabbing, especially when he could bring his family.

Surviving him are children: Richard Christopher, Jr. and wife Betty, Curtis Christopher and wife Teri, Deidra Hampt and husband Jere, Russell Christman and wife Monica, Michael Christman and wife Jen, 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and siblings: William Christopher, Cranston Christopher, and Helen Foster.

Richard was predeceased by his grandson: Christopher Hampt, brothers: Robert Christopher, Franklin Christopher, and brother-in-law: Michael Foster.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, April 3, from 10-11 am, at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am.

Interment will follow in Greenmount United Methodist Church Cemetery, Hampstead, MD.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be offered to the Humane Society of Carroll County, 2517 Littlestown Pike, Westminster, MD 21158 or to the "BridgingLife Dove House" BridgingLife Development Office, 200 Memorial Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157.
