Richard "Dick" Earl Hawn

Richard "Dick" Earl Hawn, 88 of Westminster, MD. passed peacefully, Monday May 15, 2017 at the Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster. Born Dec. 8, 1928 in Westminster, he was the son of the late Earl and Margaret Royer Hawn. He was the husband of the late Myra Loray Garland Hawn who died Nov. 10, 2016.

Dick worked at the Westminster Walmart in the Sporting Goods Dept. Years ago, he worked at Black & Decker and drove buses for Rill's Bus Service. He was a member of the Church of the Open Door an U.S. Air Force veteran, he enjoyed working on his outdoor train garden and telling jokes.

He is survived by his children: George Richard Cole of Ocala Florida, and Jennifer Loray Hawn of Westminster MD, 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 1 great- great grandchild.

He was predeceased by a sister; Elizabeth "Betty" Harbaugh.

The family will receive friends on Friday May 19, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102. A memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday May 20, at the Church of the Open Door, 550 Baltimore Blvd, Westminster, MD. 21157, officiated by Rev. Dr. Ray Shutt.

Interment is private.
