Richard Emanuel Fridinger, Sr. age 85, of Manchester, MD passed away Friday September 25, 2015 at the Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster, MD, following a battle with lung cancer.
Born January 17, 1930 in Manchester, MD he was the son of the late William Albert Fridinger and Mamie Ellen Therit Fridinger. He was the husband of Ethel May Cole Fridinger, his wife of 54 years.
He was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Hanover, PA. He worked for Asplundh Tree Expert Company for 10 years and the Town of Manchester for 20 years. He enjoyed hunting, listening to bluegrass, gospel music and playing his mandolin.
Surviving in addition his wife are his son, Richard E. Fridinger, Jr. and wife Judy of Manchester, granddaughters, Cassandra and Courtney Fridinger, both of Manchester and sisters, Mamie Koontz and Daisy Sisler, both of Westminster, MD.
He was predeceased by sisters, Helen Hosfeld, Mary Rippeon, Selma Stem and Hazel Leese; and brothers, Howard, Sterling, William, Raymond and Bert Fridinger.
Following cremation, a private graveside service will be held at John Luther Miller Cemetery in Westminster, MD.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to, Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157.
Funeral arrangements are by the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL P.A., Manchester, MD.
