On Thursday, December 16, 2010, RICHARD LEWIS HAINES, 78, of Pikesville died at Gilchrist Hospice in Towson.

He was the beloved husband of Norma F. Schlosser Haines, his wife of 53 years; devoted father of Cynthia K. Walshe and Victoria L. Haines-High; loving grandfather of Robert J. Walshe, IV, Richard J. Walshe, Luke R. High, and Phoebe K. High; cherished brother of Curtis Haines; and brother in law of Ray and Gloria Schlosser and Ruth Schlosser.

He was predeceased by his grandparents Edward Lewis and Clara Owings Lewis, who raised him and his parents Curtis B. Haines and Gladys Lewis Breedlove.

The family will receive friends 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Interment will be in Wards Chapel Cemetery in Holbrook.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to the Baltimore Rescue Mission, 4 North Central Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21202.
