Richard Charles Hill

Richard Charles Hill, 75, of Baltimore, MD, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Sinai Hospital. Born on January 17, 1947, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late John Paul Hill, Sr. and Lucille Katz Hill. He was the beloved husband of Susann Schemm.

Richard was a veteran of the United States Navy; in the Navy he served on many ships, including the USS New Jersey. He worked as a maintenance supervisor for the Maryland Division of Corrections. Richard enjoyed flyfishing, he was a member of the Gem Cutters Guild of Baltimore, the Baltimore Area Turners, the Six Napoleons (a Sherlockian Scion Society of Baltimore) and Western Maryland Railway Historical Society.

Surviving him in addition to his wife are brothers: Peter Hill and wife Mary Lou of Leesburg, Virginia, Tom Hill and wife Janice of Columbia, MD, sister-in-law: Elizabeth Hill of Mays Chapel, MD, and sister: Margaret Hill-Grigson. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Richard was predeceased by siblings: Ann DeBarbieri and Jack Hill.

Funeral services and interment are private.
