Richard "Rick" Eugene Cole

Richard “Rick” Eugene Cole, 73, of Upperco, MD, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, MD. Born on December 9, 1952, in Baltimore County, MD, he was the son of the late Cornelius Eugene Cole and Nona Marie Brenneman Cole. He was the beloved husband of 40 years to Leann Elizabeth Heath Cole.

Rick graduated from Franklin High School, Class of 1970. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving from 1972 to 1975. He worked as a self-employed electrician. He was a loyal and active life-member of the Glyndon Volunteer Fire Department, where he served on the Board of Directors three times, and as corresponding secretary or recording secretary for many years. Rick was also a member of the American Legion Post 116. He was meticulous about his yard at home and enjoyed spending time tending to it.

Surviving him in addition to his wife is daughter: Sheri Lyn Townsend of Florida, grandchildren: Cory, Rachael, Kapri, and sister: Irene M. Jackson and husband Robert of Reisterstown, MD. He is also survived by extended family and friends.

Rick was predeceased by his daughter: Shawn Leigh Parks.

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, December 30, from 6-8 pm, and on Wednesday, December 31, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, MD.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2026, from 2-4 pm, at the Glyndon Fire Hall, 4812 Butler Rd, Glyndon, MD 21071.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at 9:30 am, at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, MD. Following the funeral service, interment will be held in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, Owings Mills, MD.
