Robert "Bob" Andrew Currie, 86, of Reisterstown, MD, passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021, at Birch Manor in Sykesville, MD. Born on March 28, 1935, in Michigan, he was the son of the late William L. and Edna Irene Mickle Currie. He was the beloved husband of Judy Marie Cohill Currie.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Years ago, he worked for Westinghouse as a manager of engineering. Aside from being a devoted father and husband, Mr. Currie led the team of 2,500 scientists and engineers that developed the infrared microwave technology for the F-117 Nighthawk and B-2 Spirit stealth aircraft. Bob had fond memories of attending Hagerstown High, later earning his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Delaware.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife of 63 years are children: Greg Currie and wife Patricia and Bill Currie and wife Sally, grandchildren: Shelley, Clara, and Emma, great-grandchildren: Layla and Cameron, and siblings: Bruce A. Currie and Barbara Shaffer.
He was predeceased by his siblings: William Currie and Irene Currie.
Funeral services and interment are private.
