Robert Louis Barley, Sr.

Robert Louis Barley, Sr., 85, of Reisterstown, MD, passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, MD.  Born on January 20, 1940, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Robert Barley and Ida E. Gamber Barley.  He was the beloved husband of 65 years to Shirley Marie Barley.

Robert was a longtime deacon and administrator with Reisterstown Church of the Brethren, but he also took on many responsibilities and helped any way he could.  He was fondly known as "Mr. Bob" by many.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman; he always stayed busy and rarely sat still. He also enjoyed doing activities around the house such as cooking and baking. Spending time with his family was important to him; he was a devoted husband and cherished being a grandfather.

Surviving him in addition to his wife are sons: Robert Barley, Jr. and wife Karen, Joshua Barley and wife Jennifer, grandchildren: James Robert Wilbar, Hunter Barley, Austin Barley, Juliet Barley, and Joanna Barley.

Robert was predeceased by his daughter: Carol Marie Barley-Wilbar, and sister: Jeannie Malone.

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, October 14, from 3-5 and 7-9 pm, at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, MD, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 15, at 11 am.

Interment to follow in Deer Park Church Cemetery, Reisterstown, MD.
