Robert Eugene Bertrand, Sr., 84, of Berlin, died December 14 ,2013 at Loch Raven Community Living Center in Baltimore.
Born January 18, 1929 in Fall River, MA, he was the son of the late Eugene Bertrand and Irene Charbonneau Bertrand. He was the husband of Hazel Louise Bertrand, who died in 2006.
He was a retired from the Department of Energy as a Criminal Investigator and was a retired Lt. Colonel from the United States Army Reserves.
Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law Etienne A. "Tina" and Richard Thompson; his grandchildren Stephanie Barnard, Heather Thompson, and Amanda Peach; and his 5 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of memorial service, Noon, Friday, December 27, 2013 at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills.
Interment will follow at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery with military honors.
A private cremation was held at All Faiths Crematory and Chapel in Manchester.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society Tribute Giving, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73132-1718.
