Robert "Bob" Franklin Gierhart III, 57, of Hampstead, MD passed away surrounded by family and friends on Tuesday, August 29, 2017. Born January 26, 1960 he was the son of Robert Franklin Gierhart Jr. and Elizabeth Jo Mershon Gierhart of Rosedale, MD. Bob was a machinist for Pall Corporation in Timonium, MD for 17 years. He relished the outdoors, was an avid hunter, and loved to camp and hike with his wife, family, and friends. He spent much of his spare time tinkering with model trains and had been a beekeeper for more than 20 years. He had an infectious personality and smile, loved to laugh, and spread joy to everyone around him. His life was guided by Christ and spreading the message of Salvation. He was an active member and Deacon at Manchester Baptist Church, and was involved in many missions and outreach programs to bring God's Word to others. His works also led him to volunteer at NESAP and the Westminster Rescue Mission. He is survived by Carol, his wife of 33 years. In addition to his wife is daughter Meghan Yarmak and husband Craig of Anchorage, AK along with daughter Ashley Parker and husband Noah of Spring Grove, PA. He is preceded by son, Brennan Gierhart. He is also survived by his brother, Michael Gierhart, and wife Jenny of State College PA, as well as his sister, Susan Gierhart of York, PA. He also leaves behind his legacy of five grandchildren Tillie Yarmak, and Noah, Cody, Stephanie, and Jacob Parker, as well as many nieces and nephews. The family will hold a Celebration of Life at Manchester Baptist Church, 2933 Manchester Baptist Church Rd, Manchester MD on Saturday September 2, 2017 at 10:30am; a luncheon will follow.
