Robert J. Hood Sr., 73, of Sykesville died Monday, Nov. 12, 2007, at Levindale Nursing Home in Baltimore.
Born April 18, 1934, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Sherman W. Hood Sr. and Isabel Hood. He was the husband of Louise L. Miller Hood, his wife of 52 years.
He retired from Fire Mak as a sprinkler fitter.
He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved his two German shepherds.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughter and son-in-law Debbie and John Davis of Westminster; son and daughter-in-law Robert J. Hood Jr. and Charlene Hood of Finksburg; grandchildren Justin Bell and Jonathon Hood; great-grandson Brayden Andrew Bell; sister and brother-in-law Darlene and Eduardo Smith of Parkville; a sister-in-law, Nancy Hood; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by a brother, Sherman W. Hood Jr.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, with the Rev. Frederick J. Hanna officiating. Interment will be in Druid Ridge Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
