Listen to Obituary

Roland Timothy "Mac" McAuliffe, 91, of Reisterstown, MD, peacefully passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022, surrounded by family. Born on February 14, 1931, in Severn, MD, he was the son of the late Thomas and Anna Walk McAuliffe and brother of the late Nick Gayo. Mac was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy "Dot" Ann McAuliffe, who passed away in 2020.

Mac retired from State Farm in 1992 after 30 proud years of service. He also served in the Navy/Air Force, the Baltimore County Police Department and the Maryland State Police.

Mac loved his family dearly and would do anything for them. He never met a stranger, and he would always be cracking his cornball jokes for a smile and laugh. Mac loved being outdoors whether it was working in the gardens, fishing, flying his Cessna, camping, or just sitting out on the old porch swing.

Surviving him are children: Bruce McAuliffe, Michael McAuliffe (Joanne), Cheryl Morrison (Bob), Terri Layne (Donald), and five grandchildren Kelly, Gregg, Megan, Kaitlin, Tyler, and the late Page Wilson.

We will miss our "Daddy Mac/Mac daddy" dearly. Mac would never say goodbye but would rather leave you with a jolly "Keep your tailgate up!" and we hope all who read this remember his tag line and Mac's funny, kind heart with love.

A private graveside service was held on May 12, 2022.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society or St. Jude's Hospital in remembrance of Mac.

Arrangements are by the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., Owings Mills, MD.
