Romeo Gauthier, Jr., of Hampstead, MD, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at the Lorien in Taneytown, MD. Born on August 5, 1942, in Southbridge, MA, he was the son of the late Romeo Gauthier and Elizabeth Roso Gauthier. He was the beloved husband of 60 years to Patricia Carlee Gauthier.
Romeo was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He worked for the social security administration for many years. He was a loyal member of St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church. He was also the highest-ranking member of the Knights of Columbus in the State of Maryland, which he has been a member of since 1971.
Surviving him in addition to his wife are children: Joseph Gauthier and wife Kelli of Littlestown, PA, Michael Gauthier of Odenton, MD, Shirley Salmi and husband Eric of Hampstead, MD, Angela Bubczyk and husband Tony of Hanover, PA, grandchildren: Tori, Andrea, Garrett, Jillienne, Ava, Brendon, Nathan, and great-granddaughter: Ashlee, the child of Andrea and Cotey Kopp. He is also survived by his siblings: JoAnn Lavalee, Shirley Jacques, Raymond Gauthier, Linda Gauthier, Betty Daniels, Gerald Gauthier, Bobby Gauthier, and Mary Bellerive, and many nieces and nephews.
Romeo was predeceased by his sister: Clair Gallant.
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, January 31, from 3-5 and 7-9 pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, February 1, at 11 am, at St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church, 2930 Hanover Pike, Manchester, MD.
Interment is private.
