Ronald Warren Drewry

Ronald Warren Drewry, 92, of Gwynn Oak, MD, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at peace, in his home. Born on June 26, 1934, in Clifton Forge, VA, he was the son of the late William Warren Drewry and Violet Louise Linkinhoker Drewry. He was the beloved husband of 68 years to Faye Drewry.

Ronald was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, and later worked for NASA at Goddard Spaceflight Center in the Sounding Rocket Division. He eventually retired after a long career with the US Government, and enjoyed his retirement years with Faye, playing golf, skiing, and serving in his community and abroad through various mission projects. He was a man of quiet faith, a kind and generous soul. He loved meeting new people, he loved to laugh and tell stories, and few people left his presence without a hug or a handshake.

Surviving him in addition to his wife are his son, David Drewry, his daughter, Rhonda Thomas, his son in law James Thomas; grandchildren Rebecca Cary Evans (Paul), James Thomas Jr., Bryant Thomas, Diana Drewry Hutchinson (Joseph), and Jessica Drewry; as well as great grandchildren and many “chosen family” members who will miss him greatly.

He was preceded in death by his brother George Paxton “Drew” Drewry, and his oldest son, Robert Paxton Drewry.

A private interment will be held at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ronald’s memory may be sent to Hospice at the following address:
