Ronald Lee "Ronnie" Hill, Sr., 66, of Hampstead died Sunday, February 3, 2013 at his home.
Born March 22, 1946 in Baltimore, he was the son of Margaret Pauline Swan Lang and her husband John and the late Claude Hill. He was the husband of H. Gracie Flanary Hill, his wife of 40 years.
He was a machinist for a tool and die company. He enjoyed drag racing, riding motorcycles, camping, hunting, fishing and especially spending time with his family. He was a 1964 graduate of Westminster High School. He was raised and lived with his maternal grandmother growing up. He was an avid Baltimore Ravens and Orioles fan.
Surviving are his children Deana R. Mathews and husband Sam, Ronald L. Hill, Jr., and wife Mary, Cherie D. Hill-Stultz, and Richard L. "Rick" Hill and wife Joyce; grandchildren Amanda, Brian, Braden, Jakob, Chelsea, Timmy, and Gianna; great grandson Shane; brother David A. Warren and wife Nelly; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Mary and Paul Wilson, Donald and Elaine Flanary, Janice Flanary, Gene and Brenda Flanary, and Sandy DeJesus; and also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts , uncles, cousins, and extended family.
He was predeceased by his grandmother Mary Swan; mother-in-law and father-in-law E. Leona and Cloys H. Flanary; and brother-in-law James Flanary.
The family will receive friends 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday with pastor the Rev. David Sulcer officiating.
Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Gamber.
