Roy Luther Gray, Jr. 66, of Manchester Monday, June 9, 2014 at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin.
Born August 23, 1947 in Baltimore, he was the son the late Roy Luther Gray, Sr. and Pearl Bratt Gray. He was the husband of Beverly Ann Breivogel Gray, his wife of 43 years.
He was a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Navy and served from 1967 to 1970 and from his service; he had the utmost respect for the United States Flag. He was a member of various organizations such as the Moose Lodge, #1577, Ionic Lodge, # 145, American Legion, Post 116, VFW, Lt. Peter G. Zouck Post 521, and the Carroll York Rite. He was a proud volunteer at the VA Medical Center in Baltimore. He had portrayed Santa Claus for the towns of Manchester and Hampstead, enjoyed performing Karaoke, wherever it was available, and which he sounded like Neil Diamond.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children Jeremy Gray and wife Alyce, and Dawn Frye and husband Larry; his grandchildren Kaylee and Brady Mehaffie, Kaleb and Noah Frye, Melissa and Heather Forster, Michael and Justin Petrecca; his great grandchildren Clay and Jared; and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Leslie and Ken Wunder.
He was predeceased by his brother Keith Gray and his mother-in-law and father-in-law Anita and Nicholas Breivogel.
The family will receive friends 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday.
Interment will be Meadowridge Memorial Park, Elkridge.
