Ruth Beeker, 87, of Manchester died Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.
Born June 14, 1923, she was the daughter of the late John and Emma Gray Schmitt. She was the wife of the late Charles Wilbur Beeker, her husband of 60 years, who died in 2005.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church. She was a former member of the Westminster Moose.
Surviving are her children Mary Barbara Weyandt of Huntingdon, PA, Joan Anne Clurman of Spotsylvania, PA, Nancy M. Brockmeyer of Manchester, Jane Frances Daw of New Freedom, PA, Patricia Ruth Sachs of Sparks, Paul Gerard Beeker of Parkville, and Jennifer Jean Nilsen of White Hall; her grandchildren 13 and 7 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her grandson Patrick Donovan, Jr. and her sisters Margaret Pivec and Marie Zaiko.
The family will receive friends 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church, 2930 Hanover Pike, Manchester with celebrant the Rev. Michael Roach officiating.
Interment will be in the Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church, P.O. Box 448, Manchester, MD 21102.
