Ruth Smith Harrison, age 97 of Hampstead, MD, died Monday, Jan. 11, 2016 at the Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster, MD.
Born August 23, 1918 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Bessie Boswell Smith. She was the wife of the late John Rodman Harrison, Sr., who died in 1995.
She was a housewife and a member of Living Hope Baptist Church in Reisterstown, MD.
She was predeceased by her son, David Warren Harrison, and was survived by her sons, Richard Harrison and wife Chrissee of Hampstead, MD and John "Jack" R. Harrison, Jr., and wife Barbara of Beltsville, MD and five grandchildren; John, Kris, Laura, Glen and Nathan. She was also survived by 7 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held and officiated by Dr. David LeBlanc on Tuesday, Jan. 26 at 6pm at Living Hope Baptist Church, 14450 Hanover Pike, Reisterstown, MD. 21136. Interment was at Fort Lincoln Cemetery in Brentwood, MD.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Living Hope Baptist Church.
Arrangements are by the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A., Manchester, MD.
