Ruth Amelia Jordan

Ruth Amelia Weil Jordan, 87, of Hampstead died October 26, 2010 at the Golden Living Nursing Home in Westminster.

Born December 13, 1922 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Henry Weil and Emma Cora Rullman Weil. She was the wife of the late George William Jordan, her husband of 40 years, who died on March 14, 1993.

She worked for Bendix during the WWII, then for Black and Decker before becoming a homemaker. She loved gardening, sewing, and birds and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving is a son David Lee Jordan of Manchester and his fiancée Cathy Hess of Hampstead; a daughter and son in law Dolores Ruth Jordan Matty and Stephen A. Matty of Manchester; her grandchildren Nicholas Jordan and his wife Cherry, Corey Jordan and his wife Katie, Aaron Matty and Kyle Matty; and great grandchildren Brianna Bullock, Connor and Kayla Jordan, Brittany Jordan, James Jordan, and Sienna Dale.

She was predeceased by 4 sisters and one brother.

The family will receive friends 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12 noon Saturday at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester.

Interment will be in the New Lutheran Cemetery.
